Here I have an oldie from the early 80's, a lovely Burgundy Basic Bag style #9455. This lady has a glued in registration number, anchors on her hardware and her original single sided hang tag and a removable double tubular strap that is in great condition. She also features a wrist strap. This bag can be worn as a large wristlet, a clutch and a shoulder bag. She is anything but basic. This old NYC Burgundy is so saturated in color and often looks very purple.
This lady was loved. No tears in her leather or piping but she does have faded piping. She also has a stain on one side, and ink stains not he inside. Some scratches & patina can be seen. Her leather is thick and chewy (how I often describe this era of leather). Her pull ring is chipping as it was not solid brass at this particular time. Please see al pics. The other hardware however is solid brass. She was reconditioned slowly with leather CPR, insides brushed and vacuumed thoroughly, and brass was cleaned with brasso and or sunshine clothes.
